Aston Martin Clutch Repair and Replacement Service

At The Car Lab Auto Repair Center, we understand that your Aston Martin is more than a car—a masterpiece of engineering and luxury. Since Aston Martin cars are built with high performance and excellent driving experience, it is essential to have a perfect clutch system. Our certified technicians use advanced diagnostic equipment and extensive knowledge to perform simple servicing, repairs and replacements of clutch components. Common problems such as reduced clutch responsiveness, shifting difficulties, and odd noises are addressed so your Aston Martin continues to perform as if it were new. Below are the steps involved in our clutch repair and replacement process:

Initial Consultation: The process begins with a comprehensive consultation to gather details about your Aston Martin’s clutch issues. Whether you’re experiencing problems with slipping, abnormal noises, or delayed gear shifting, our experts review the car’s maintenance history for any prior clutch-related work or potential recurring issues. It helps us provide targeted service and effective troubleshooting.

Pre-Service Inspection: After consultation, we conduct a thorough assessment of the clutch system. This involves checking the clutch pedal, linkage, and other compound components for wear and tear, rust, and fluid flows. We also check clutch engagement, listen to unusual noises, and check gear shifting to diagnose issues.

Diagnosis: In this diagnosis check, every hydraulic line, master cylinder, and slave cylinder is meticulously checked for any signs of contamination, leak, or damage. We ensure the hydraulic fluid levels are optimal. We remove the transmission to examine the clutch disc, pressure plate, and flywheel if needed. This step allows us to identify the root cause of clutch issues accurately.

Preparation for Repair/Replacement: We carefully disconnect the transmission from the engine to access the clutch assembly. This step involves removing the driveshaft, shift linkage, and electrical connectors. We stabilize the engine using a support bar or similar equipment to ensure safety and prevent any damage during the process.

Clutch Component Replacement: In cases where replacement is necessary, new clutch disc and pressure plates are fixed but aligned as the manufacturer prescribes. We also replaced the pilot and release bearings to ensure that the clutch system does not develop problems in the future.

Flywheel Resurfacing/Replacement: If the flywheel appears worn or damaged, we refinish its surface to give it a smoother feel. If resurfacing cannot be done, we replace it with a new flywheel to allow smooth contact of the clutch components and thus facilitate the vehicle’s performance.

Reassembly of Transmission: After replacing the necessary components, we carefully reassemble the Aston Martin’s transmission and secure it back to the engine. We reconnect the driveshaft, shift linkage, and all electrical connections. Using a pilot tool, we align the pressure plate accurately before tightening the bolts in a star pattern to distribute pressure evenly and prevent part warping.

Hydraulic System Bleeding: For the best results of the clutch, we release the air from the hydraulic system that may have been trapped in repairing or replacing. This step ensures equal pressure within the system and thus delivers a very direct clutch pedal feel.
